TRIP COORDINATOR CHECKLIST

General descriptions of Trips are published in the newsletter and posted on the Club On Line Calendar as soon as information is received by the Editor and the Cruise Director.
A detailed description,"Put In", should be published in two or more newsletters before the trip. Trip Coordinators should send their "Put Ins" to the Editor, by the 10th of the month to be published in the next newsletter.
USCA GUIDELINES

Review the USCA Guidelines. Trip Coordinators are at risk of jeopardizing their insurance coverage if the USCA Guidelines are not followed. As a minimum, review the route and any hazards before the trip begins and assign an experienced paddler as sweep to help anyone in distress. While on the water, each participant must have a pfd in his/her  possession.

INSURANCE

Insurance is covered by the United Sates Canoe Association policy (USCA). The insurance is designed to provide the Trip Leaders with Liability Protection.
INSURANCE WAIVERS

USCA waivers must be signed by all guests and participants for sanctioned events. Guests may participate in two trips before becoming FSPC members. Trip Coordinators should carry an adequate number of waiver forms for all participants to sign.
Signed waivers should be sent to
Ruth Marwitz, Membership Chairman. Also, send Ruth an email notifying her that the waivers have been sent. Click here to view and print the USCA Insurance Waiver.
TRIP REPORT

A list of all participants including members and guests should be made before starting a cruise and promptly reported via e-mail to the
Cruise Director, Carol Behnken.  Signatures are not required so the names can be simply typed in an email. Indicate if each person is a member or guest. Click here for an optional form for transmitting this information.
UNSCHEDULED TRIPS

The USCA sanctions and insures all trips scheduled and published in the newsletter and on the FSPC Meetup website. The Meetup site can be used for impromptu trips that were not scheduled in time for the FSPC Newsletter.
